Our Studio
Project Botanica is a boutique landscape design studio based in Potts Point, Sydney, creating thoughtful gardens for outdoor spaces.
We specialise in courtyards, balconies, terraces, compact gardens, and small to medium-sized urban yards across Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, and nearby areas.
Considered outdoor spaces
Our work is grounded in the belief that smaller spaces can be deeply rewarding. With the right design, a modest courtyard, balcony, or roof terrace can become a calm, practical, and beautiful part of everyday life.
We consider planting, materials, movement, maintenance, light, shade, privacy, and the way you want to live outside. Every decision is made with purpose, so the garden feels balanced, personal, and easy to enjoy.
From concept to completion
We can guide your project from concept through to completion, working with skilled contractors and local craftspeople where needed.
Whether the focus is planting design, structural elements, a more functional layout, or post-installation care, our role is to bring clarity, care, and design intent to the process.
A garden for daily life
The aim is not just to make a space look finished, but to feel settled.
We design gardens that sit comfortably with the home, support the way you live, and continue to bring pleasure as materials age and planting grows over time.
Gareth Walker
Design Director
Gardens have always been part of Gareth’s story. Growing up around passionate gardeners, his love of plants and outdoor spaces was shaped early and has stayed with him ever since.
After a career in technology, Gareth retrained as a garden designer and later worked under the mentorship of an award-winning landscape designer. This shaped a practical, hands-on design approach grounded in strong planting, careful detailing, and a clear understanding of how outdoor spaces are used.
While hard landscaping is handled by trusted contractors, Gareth stays closely involved in the design detail, planting, styling, installation coordination and final composition of each project.
He is most at home with a spade in hand, arranging plants and shaping the finishing touches that help a garden feel settled and personal.
